As an Ambulance First Responder with EMAS, Emily has extensive practical first aid experience and knowledge, and she also works part time in community stroke rehab. Over the years, Emily has come face to face with many situations where prompt first aid action has been critical in helping members of the public, and has seen first hand that these skills can really make a difference. Emily feels passionate about helping as many people as possible to feel more confident and empowered by learning these invaluable and potentially lifesaving skills. As a mum to two young children, she also really enjoys teaching early years and kids classes, and is a firm believer that children should be taught first aid skills from a young age too.
I have been working for East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust since 1996, the majority of that time has been as a State Registered Paramedic. This has given me a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of emergency medical care. In 2004 I gained my teaching qualification allowing me to pursue a career in teaching and training. I feel passionate about passing on my knowledge and training so that others can gain the skills required to render assistance to an injured or ill person.
Hi, my name is Miranda, and I am mum to my gorgeous two year old daughter Esme. Along with being kept busy with my little one, I am also a qualified teacher, and I currently work in schools supporting pupils with aspects of their social, emotional and mental health and learning needs. When I had my daughter, I was keen to gain some basic first aid skills and understanding so I signed up to a Mini First Aid class and it’s one of the best things I have done! Not only has it given me the skills and confidence to deal with emergency situations with children but it has developed my passion for first aid too. I have since gone on to become a fully qualified first aid trainer, and I’m excited to be working with Emily and looking forward to delivering Mini First Aid classes to parents, grandparents and children!
Hello, my name is Sadie and I’m delighted to be part of the Mini First Aid family! I am a mum to 2 teenage girls, and a qualified children’s nurse. I worked at Birmingham Children’s Hospital for 10 years before moving on to be a Nurse in a special school, which is my current role away from MFA. As you can imagine, my role has brought me plenty of real life first aid experience which I am looking forward to sharing with you!
